Me and a friend of mine have been working in Flash with some PNG files and they have superior quality for transparency, over GIFS. Is there any ways this PNG files can be web-friendly? Just a thought.....

Thanks,

Yeah...keep them in Flash.

Shockwave players support the portable net graphic format and it's 4 steps of transparency, so if you use them in Flash and publish the .fla files you'll have no problem. If you try using individual .png files embedded with html, then you're asking for problems. PNGs aren't fully supported by web browsers right now...and at the moment it looks like they might not be at any point really soon.

Vector graphics are making the big splash right now (especially with the outstanding SVG ideas becoming reality) but other than that, most designers deal with gif colour compression, and jpeg quality loss quite well.

So, the word of the day KeepItInFlashAndYou'reHappy.

Hope it helps.

Peter

I was going to ask if anyone knew what level of support for .png graphics the different browsers had but then I just got off my ass and did a Google search
