is there a way to save the photoshop image as gif without a backgruound ?
I mean even if i open the file as transparent when i save as gif its background becomes white.This is seriously makes my work harder.

chose file>save for web and make sure the 'transparency' box is checked. if you're in something less than photoshop 5.5, then you'll have to use the export>gif89 and play with the settings there.

in Photoshop 6 when you save as a transparent gif make sure that your matte color is the color of the background you are wanting your gif to be transparent over

umm...you do that in 5.5 too...and 5. and 4, from what i remember..
