I know how expensive graphics programs are, I buy all mine, but it would be greatly appreciated if you didn't advise people to go to warez...please? I'm not a prude or anything, I say up freedom of information, but we could all get in trouble, and that's something I don't wanna see.

Yah, I have to agree with Skaarj, officially...

<stern voice>Warez are BAD for the industry, software really should be paid for.</stern voice>

I really belive this. However, if somebody really is starting out and hasn't the money, I'd not condemn anyone for doing what they have to do, using what they have to use. It really is in all of our best interests to not post such informations here in the forum, though! Please restrict any such referals to email, if you please! <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/wink.gif">

As i said before on some post, i generally think we should pay for good software, after all people worked for it. But i also think the amount of money some companies demand for thier software is absurd and alienating a lot of customers, and the taxes make it even worse. They loose a lot of customers for those awful prices and enlarge the market for warez. Here in Israel, the tax for puter stuff is so high i sometimes wait for a game to become "old" before buying it, so the price is reasonable. (200% tax? like yeah right...)
A new version of PS will cost a few hundred bucks, while an old version will cost only a token and the upgrade something like $150.
Therefor, buying an old version and upgrading for a lower cost looks very reasonable and appealing. Im sure you can find copies all over the net, so go for it!

As I've mentioned before, you really only need the old *manuals* to prove to adobe that you're a registered user for upgrade purposes. You can sometimes find old original manuals for Photoshop 2.0 in used bookstores for maybe $5.00, and then you send a copy of the cover page with your upgrade request. It works, it's legal, and it beats paying full price!

I will never do it again. I buy all my software my self but I just thaught that this site would help someone to start off, see if he really liked it. But that it what the demosoftware is for. Right
