I'm probably looking for something that doesn't actually exist, but I'd like to find some decent free or low cost web hosting with ssi cgi support etc. I know this has been asked before, and datablocks.net was suggested, but I'm really not partial to having my email and address submitted to advertising companies...
I don't even mind displaying banner ads as long as I can choose exactly where they're placed and they don't compromise my design. My main problem is that the site is fairly new and doesn't get as many hits as some hosts would like. Has anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

Did you try www.virtualave.net ?
You don't have to give them your real living address and your real name, right?
They don't accept free e-mail addresses but I've never gotten spam from them.

Hack up the 5 dollars per month for real hosting, and the 13.50 for the DNS, having something that is not free is much better than having something that is.

Because either way you are paying for something. But when you don't give them cash, you just don't know what you are paying with.

Fantastic. Virtualave seems to be just what I wanted. Cheers. I can definately see the advantages of paying for hosting services, but I can't really justify the expense for something which is probably better deemed a hobby than a business.
cheers
