Been so busy lately with work, I have not really had to much time to come around much, but what happened with Ini? Did he just freak out, or what?

I can't really get the jist of it, since all his posts are gone now.

Not sure if this topic has already been overly talked about, if so....no reason to bother responding...

It all started here: Comments on this? with Amikael and TP's "insulting" posts, and if you follow the track of locked threads in the mad scis' lab I think you'll get the rest of the picture even without his amiable statements still in place....

speaking of happy land and nizax, I just about wet myself laughing at that "how do i make this style?" thread.

Wow, looks like I missed that whole scenario.

It's a pity that his posts were deleted. He's a good guy who does a lot of good work, but sometimes he just loses it unexplicably. I hope he gets things sorted out with himself.


 

Trying to understand what happened here...
InI has burnded up treathened , with lawyres and so on. This is an realy strange stituation an i do hope it can be resolved. I did understand that we have lost three MS's with this whole incident.
My sympathy goes to all the people who are holding this place together.

Some words of advice for anyone who is going through some hard times: Take Little steps in the right direction, don't be afraid to step a bit back and trying again. Solve each little problem one at the time. Concentrate on yourself and the direction you want to go with your live. Do not let your anger against the world consume too much energy. You are going to need all the energy you have to get your live in the right direction.

This whole thing makes me sad.

I think Rinswind 2th mixed some infos and thought Emperor and DL-44 gave up their MS status recently. But afaik they did that approximatively when the Grail came out. No ?

As I have been contacted via ICQ on this I may as well as lay out how I saw it go down* (the two factors listed below may also be connected):

1. InI was upset that TP has higher access than other MSes.

2. There was a misunderstanding over a closed thread - as far as I can tell it was shut and InI thought he couldn't reopen it when it had actually been reopened and the problem was he was viewing a cached version.

From small acorns mighty oaks grown and it rapidly span out of control with InI making demands to have all his posts and Wiki entries removed. I pointed out where he stood on the copyright front. I and the Doc then received an email making threats and laying down a deadline for us to speak to TP and get his posts removed. I replied again clarifying the copyright situation as far as I saw it and offering a compromise that I didn't think we needed to accept (i.e. if he still felt that way in a month then we'd remove the posts). I then forwarded that to TP. I have had a brief email exchange with the Doc and hope to speak to him about this further - I believe he was going to contact InI too.

Eventually TP got fed up and agreed to InI's demands and removed his posts replacing them with a default message.

There is currently a thread running on clarifying the actual nature on threads posted to this site, etc.

DL resigned as a MS a while ago now and I went for a walk outside for a while and, speaking for myself, it is stuff like this that made me leave and kept me away for so long (as well as the fact that I've got involved with loads of other fascinaitng stuff too ).

* and if it needs clarifying this is just based on my personal observations - I hope it in some ways helps clarify things for people who missed most of the developments as it blew up so quickly.

I figured this would happen eventually. It almost happened before, once...upon a time ago, and I think it did involve DL and Ini, so I guess...in a way, DL is related to all of this. Or, ahhh....something. Something about fish and blown up planets and floating through space, or was it farts. Yes, I think Ini left a stinky fart floating around the cell of DL and DL happened to walk through it, which can be very dangerous, since Ini liked to eat lots of chili.
