The PSD can be found in this ZIP file, threee layers, one mask, everything intact and ready to go!

Cool cool, I'll be here. I'm going to do my best to play my side of the game almost "time based", even though we're on a turn based game, right? This is kind of exciting, and a little bit scary to me, I never had much luck with the Make-it! competition, my brain typically runs along on its own little track, and dislikes curves that I didn't create! (At least we're in the same time zone, that ought to help, eh?)

Hoo, hrmph, that was a hell of a twist to throw at me! I may have over-reacted with this one, giving a shot at spinning this one back onto the court *I* was playing on, heh. Unfortunately, even as a JPEG, this one is a *big* fat jpeg, so here's a thumbnail of it (click to see the full-size.)

It occurs to me, kind of nasty to fill up all the empty space, but if it gets too crazy I may just throw a "gaussian blur" layer over it and take it somewhere else entirely, heh. You feel free to do something crazy too, no holds barred, cool?

and the PSD

uhoh. you're gonna hate me. it's like 1.73 MB now. I guess that's part of what the One-Layer Rule is for.
I'll comment in the next post a bit on what I did to it, so the others have something to read while waiting :-)
On that note, mind to explain how you did that big 'round railroad track' thing, Doc? (of course, finish your turn first *g*)
I'd appreciate it. (and my personal guess is polar coordinates. But I might be completely off here)

ok, I obviously inversed it. (curves layer, just reversed both ends, since I did not want to flatten the image),
Then I made the hat (really cheap. Rectangular Marquee, gradient alpha channel and lightning effects).
Then my favorite thing for wasting time: Wave/Fade Wave Combo, for the waved (hmm) railroadtrack things...
then I grabbed Doc's Alpha Channel, made a new rRailroadtrack thing, removed it from the curves mask and spherized the background in the center of it.
Also added some black between the lips and some purple unsharp stuff in the back, to make it a little more friendly.

Ooh, it just gets worse and worse, bigger and bigger! I hate to think of how big the PSD file is getting now. Well, I did a full 'copy merged' on what we had and ran a horrible big motion blur on it (having copied the original first, heh), and did some series of strangenesses to the color again, I *like* orange! One the layer above, set to Opacity, we have two nearly untouched versions as you gave them to me, with borders. The overall piece needed a border too, I thought.

Oh wow oh wow, where to go from here? By my figuring, I've got one last shot at this image, then TP gets his final shot at it, then... ? It's nearly 2AM here, and I think I'm going to have to sleep on this one, I'll fire my last salvo tomorrow lunchtime or so, cool?

... looking further, hmm, I say! ...

Hrmph, OK; I played *just* a little bit before I said goodnight, and liked what I was seeing, so here's my final shot at this image, some play with Polar Coordinates and a displaced glass ball of sorts. Have at it!

sorry. School took longer than expected (an unexpected drama session showed up... should be aware of those, since I'm playing the main character.), and then I had to get my CDR back from a friend who had borrowed it... and he wanted to finish 'just this batch' first.
So now I'll start working on it.

So we are finished now? Well Doc, if you still got an itch, we can go on :-), but honestly I suggest we seek out new 'opponents'.
Great game. Thank you for playing me (and that with the intern wasn't really a joke...)

well played ~applause~

a most interesting match indeed, not one for the purist but the strategy was intriguing and the technique worthy of note. Purely offensive on the part of both players, not a hint of defense to be seen. A real crowd pleaser that was.

Ah! Sorry, still here, but I've been working all day, and had guests this evening. This was *indeed* a worthy match, I wasn't quite sure how this would play out when I started, but you kept me rocking throughout, I *still* never knew where it was gonna end up! I think we are finished though, so many things happening here, I think I'd have to start with a 320px Gaussian Blur and create a (nearly) clean slate to do anything else to this image, and I don't want to do *that*.

Actually, I may sit back a few days and recover after that one, I feel like the immortal Mr. Balboa after that round (or was that the side of beef? Whatever, I feel like that. Great job Tyberius! We'll play again, though if I get to serve the next one is gonna be an overhand SMASH, I'll have to do my best to steer it onto my turf ASAP! Thanks for the game, I loved it!
