No, not vanilla. I'm wondering if anybody here has figured out a way to create realistic looking ice. I'm talking about jagged edges/frosted ice. I scanned through some old posts by Dracusis and found a couple tips that might help a bit.

I also found aluminum foil and crystal tutorials, but they aren't really what I'm looking for. If anybody has mastered the technique, please let me know.

BTW, I would eventually like to use this effect to create ice caves (:

(I'm using PS 5)

Thanks

There are a lot of ways to get a few nice ice effects;

- using eye candy 4000 (I can e-mail it to you if you like) (just under a meg) there are some melt and drip filters, when used in conjunction with some blur and lighting effects (to get the white highlights) you can get pretty close.

Check these sites out...

Some of these can be a little cheap looking, but by tweaking and playing, you may find some useful hints.

The Alien Skin Software web site says:

Eye Candy 4000 is available directly from Alien Skin Software for US$169.

The asylum's not a warez forum and most people would like to keep it that way. I don't mind if your use warez, just don't spread it around the forum. Kinda gives this place a bad name, ok. Cool.

Welcome to the Asylum Morgan. I don't think he was referring to you, but it's good to see some eagar leaners here in the Asylum. I hope you don't mind, I'm going to drop you a line probably by ICQ tonight.
